Sara Schilling
Sara, a world-class ranking professional dancer, is an extremely
proficient Ballroom Dance teacher. Her extensive knowledge and skill
range beyond excellent across all 4 styles of Ballroom Dance (International Ballroom, International Latin, American Smooth and American Rhythm).

In 1999, after years of hard training, Sara was given the opportunity to teach and found she could not get enough of it! Wanting to challenge herself and be the best at it, she worked tirelessly and earned her Licentiate Certification from the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and her Licentiate Degree from the Canadian Dance Federation (CDF). Passionate about teaching, she motivates her students to love dancing as much as she does, no matter what their goals are.
In her professional competitor career, she has achieved tremendous success on the World Stage in both, International Ballroom and International Latin divisions. Together with her partner (and husband) Evgueni, they are the only couple in Connecticut to compete at the World Championships, not once, but 8 times! They were the chosen couple to represent Canada, Evgueni's home country, at World Dancesport Championships in Tokyo, Japan in 2009; Kiev, Ukraine in 2010; Gatineau, Canada in 2011; Valleyfield, Canada in 2012; Valleyfield, Canada in 2013; Innsbruck, Austria in 2014; Moscow, Russia in 2018; and in Penang, Malaysia in 2019. They were also crowned Canadian 10-Dance Champions in 2010, and have consistently, through years, have been Canadian National Finalists and finalists in other North American events. Sara and Evgueni are also judges of numerous competitions in New England and the Tri-State area. They often perform live on TV, at corporate and special occasion events, weddings, fundraisers, and more. On top of teaching here at our studio, they are also coaches of Trinity College and UMass Amherst Ballroom Teams.
Outside of the dance studio, Sara’s other addiction is horseback riding. That is how she discovered her passion for sharing her knowledge, when she began teaching riding lessons at a very early age. She knew then that she would be teaching forever. Finally, she holds a degree in Business, which combined with her teaching experience and thorough knowledge of dance, makes her completely qualified as an owner and an instructor.

Evgueni Chaoulski
Co-Owner of EdanSe
Coach and Dance Instructor, Ballroom & Latin

Evgueni started his Ballroom Dance training when he was 11 years old, growing up in Moscow, Russia. This was something that was quite common for kids and he very quickly discovered how addictive Ballroom Dance is. When he moved to Montreal, Canada with his family in 1996, he knew that he had to continue dancing. He soon found a studio and kept training hard to achieve excellence as a youth and adult Amateur competitor. Among many of his achievements, he was ranked 2nd in North America in the 10-dance division (International Ballroom and International Latin combined), in 2006. This accomplishment encouraged him to turn professional when he met his now dance partner (and wife), Sara.
As a professional competitor, he has achieved tremendous success on the World Stage in both, International Ballroom and International Latin divisions. Together with Sara, they are the only couple in Connecticut to compete at the World Championships, not once, but 8 times! Evgueni also brings with him a great track record as a talented instructor. His passion for teaching and the drive to truly invest in his students has won him numerous Top Teacher awards at some of the most prestigious competitions throughout United States and Canada. Thanks to his extensive knowledge of all 4 styles of Ballroom Dance, skill and creativity, Evgueni has had the opportunity to dance in some Hollywood Productions. You can see him dancing in such motion pictures as “Get Smart”, 2007; “The Aviator”, 2003; and the TV adapted version of “The Great Gatsby”, 1999. Aside from dancing, he has always had an intrigue and a passion for languages and is now fluent in three: English, French, and Russian.
Joanne Lapierre
Coach and Dance Instructor, Country, Ballroom & Latin

Joanne Lapierre has an immense amount of dance experience both socially and professionally. She started her life, born into a square dancing family where music and movement were her backdrop. Her early years were full of square dancing, as well as lessons and recitals of jazz, ballet and modern dance. As an adult, Joanne expanded her dance knowledge when she extensively trained in West Coast Swing and Country Western dancing in Colorado. She proceeded to compete nationally and, in year 2000, she earned her first UCWDC World Championship as a Novice ProAm Country Classic dancer. After moving back to her home state of Massachusetts, Joanne wanted to add Ballroom Dance to her curriculum where she became fully trained in all 4 variations of it (International Ballroom, International Latin, American Rhythm and American Smooth).
Joanne started teaching Ballroom in 2009 and hasn't stopped since! Today she still teaches and shares her vast knowledge with her students in all styles of her dance training, including Country, Ballroom, popular social dances and Line dances.
Joanne is still an active Pro/Pro competitor and has earned 3 UCWDC World Championships in the recent years. She also enjoys competing with her Pro/Am students, with one student recently, earning his own World Championship at the 2024 United Country Western World Dance Championships. Joanne loves to social dance and as an instructor is happy to share her dance knowledge with you. Please don't be shy to ask her for a dance as either a leader or follower when you see her at a dance floor!
